When we were being asked to consider changing missions assignment from the Philippines to Brussels. Belgium, I was concerned about who would take over my many responsibilities.
Bill Farrand, my good friend then and now, leaned over and said, "Dave, stick your thumb in a bucket of water. Pull it out. How big a hole did you leave?"
It's too easy to get an inflated opinion of our own importance.
